Former Salisbury University athlete and WWE wrestler Eric Arndt, also known by his stage name, Enzo Amore, has been released by the organization following allegations involving sexual assault or harassment, according to a WWE release Tuesday.

Enzo Amore, right, and Big Cass walk toward the ring during WWE "Monday Night Raw" on March 13, 2017, at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

"WWE has come to terms on the release of Eric Arndt (Enzo Amore)," the WWE tweeted Tuesday evening.

In a release Monday, WWE announced Arnt was initially suspended “for matters involving sexual harassment or sexual assault.”

Phoenix police confirmed Arndt, 31, is currently under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct that took place in October 2017.

The Monday suspension came after a woman came forward on Twitter about an encounter with Arndt at the Clarendon Hotel and Spa in Arizona.

There were no charges under the name Eric Arndt filed in Maricopa County Superior Court as of Monday night.

Arndt is the reigning Cruiserweight Champion for Raw brand, which celebrated its 25th anniversary on Monday night. He became involved in wrestling three years after graduating from SU, signing with the WWE in 2012.
