Police: Lewes man shoots son during domestic dispute

The Lewes Police Department is currently investigating a domestic-related shooting in which a man was shot by his father Friday.

According to a department release, Lewes police were dispatched to a Breakwater Street residence at about 6:58 p.m. following a 911 call. A man informed dispatchers he had just shot his son following an argument.

Assisted by the Delaware State Police, Lewes officers secured the home and took one unidentified individual into custody, according to the release. The gunshot victim was transported to Beebe Hospital and treated for a gunshot wound to the left shoulder and chest area, and is currently in stable condition.

The names of the involved parties are not being released at this time during the ongoing investigation.
