A stormy forecast for Friday night and Saturday could put a damper on some weekend events.

The National Weather Service on Thursday issued a flash flood watch from Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon. Rainfall, starting Friday, is expected to range from 2-4 inches, according to the NWS. Significantly higher amounts of rain could fall at individual times and places.

But Bob Marley fans need not worry. The People's Festival, set for Saturday, will keep on jamming, just in a new location.

The annual tribute to Marley in Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park has relocated to The Queen Theater, 500 N. Market St., in Wilmington.

Tanya Stephens will be not able to perform at the festival due to weather and travel problems, but the rest of the lineup -- including a headlining set by The Wailers -- will remain the same, according to a release.

Ten artists, including Jo Mersa Marley, Richard Raw and brass party starters Soul Rebels, will perform on two stages from 1 to 10 p.m.

A covered street festival with an international food court, Twin Lakes Beer Garden, children's village and world craft market will be set up in front of The Queen, and will be free and open to the public. There will also be live music on an outdoor stage, but the main shows inside require a ticket.

Free parking is available at the Colonial Parking lot at 5th and Shipley streets.

Remaining tickets are $35; VIP tickets for $75. Visit www.peoplesfestival.com.

Kids dance at a past Dancing in the Park and Food Truck Festival. This Saturday's event has been canceled due to the stormy forecast for Friday and Saturday.

The news isn't quite so good for fans of the annual Dancing in the Park and Food Truck Festival set for Saturday at Glasgow Park.

The New Castle County event, held in conjunction with National Dance Day, has been canceled and will not be rescheduled, according to a release.

Because of the amount of rain expected, even the rain date of Sunday was ruled out. The county expects the areas used for dancing, food trucks and vendors will be too soggy to push the festival back a day.

New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer encourages residents to embrace the spirit of the event anyway.

"We cannot dance this weekend at Glasgow Park, but please dance. Post your dancing videos to our Facebook page at @ncchappenings," he said in the release.
