Salisbury armored truck robbery: What we know

Since early Monday, law enforcement has been searching for the suspects who bound and robbed a Loomis armored truck driver at a Salisbury ATM.

Salisbury officers responded to SECU on Mount Hermon Road at about 7:15 a.m. for a reported robbery, which was followed by a "safe-in-place status" for multiple Wicomico County schools as the investigation and search began.

Here's what we know:

  • The driver was filling the ATM with cash when he was approached by four men armed with handguns, who demanded money and bound his hands.
  • The suspects took off with the driver's company-issued handgun and an undisclosed amount of money.
  • One of the suspects was described as a black male wearing a black hoodie and black and gray pants. Two others were described as black males wearing dark clothing and dark masks. A description of the fourth suspect was not available.
  • A Wicomico County Sheriff's Office K-9 and the Maryland State Police Aviation Division aided local police in the search, but were unable to find the suspect or any additional evidence.
