Happy hour: Purple Parrot includes discounted munchies

The Purple Parrot is one of downtown Rehoboth Beach's longest-running bars and restaurants, which is no average feat.

Located close to the ocean on the second block of eastbound Rehoboth Avenue, it also features a popular happy hour.

Happy hour takes place in the bar area only from 3 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Domestic beer and rail drink prices during happy hour range from $2.50 to $3.50.

Those who are hungry can take an even 50-percent discount off all appetizers at the bar. This includes onion rings, dips, nachos, skewers, quesadillas and many others favorites — including many seafood items. The signature Parrot Poop Dip includes black bean guacamole with fresh tortilla chips.

The weekends also bring designated specials. During Saturday brunches (from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.), take advantage of the $3 Bloody Marys and mimosas. German beers on tap are $5 all day. On Sundays, the brunch specials are repeated — but are also joined by $5 orange crushes and grapefruit crushes and $3 Yuenglings.
